Tried the Asian Pear. Yup, tastes like a pear.
Asian pears are also called apple pears or Chinese sand pears. The skin has a rough texture that I wasn't a huge fan of. The kids and I enjoyed it better peeled.
I promise the Chayote post will be more exciting!

ReplyDeleteThey're one of my favorites. They're cripsy like an apple, and sweet like a pear. I can't get enough of them.
ReplyDeletePomolos are also one of my favorite winter fruits. So sweet and citrus-y. I prefer them to grapefruits.
Fuyu persimmons are sweet and crunchy, and perfect on a salad.
I have never tried a chayote, so I'm interested to learn what you think of it.
